Mudawara Mountain

The age of Mount Mudawara dates back to 45 million years that is the period before the Eocene era, according to the website of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority. The surrounding area is spread around what is known as “angel pits,” which resemble fossilized coins in shape. The surface of the area is characterized by a refracting crack as part of a wide lake that was formed “at the end of the ice age when the lake began to gradually dry up” according to the Egyptian Tourism Authority website. Mount Al-Mudawara and the surrounding area were formed as a result of erosion factors that contributed along with the sand dunes to removing the surface structure and animal remains that were deposited on top of it according to the website of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority.
